There are 32 boroughs in London, eight million people, over 15,000 pubs, countless eateries and endless things to do.
Cue our fundamental. area guides...
Going north: Stoke Newington
With the beautiful Clissold Park adding that out-of-London feel to one of the trendiest areas in North London, Stoke Newington is the fundamental. pick of places to go in North London.
As the original ends of Barbara Windsor, aka Peggy, N16 is quickly moving up in the world and becoming one of the coolest postcodes north of the Thames.
Drink: The Auld Shillelagh
Time Out Magazine voted The Auld Shillelagh as the best Irish pub in London. Fancy a pint of Guiness?
Eat: L'Antica Pizzeria
Made famous by ‘Eat, Pray, Love,’ L’Antica Pizzeria da Michele is the pizza haven all foodies have been waiting for.
Do: Loading Bar
Loading Bar serves you alcohol and board games: try playing Obama Llama after a few pints.
Going South: Peckham
Peckham has (or had depending on which loyalists you speak to) fully come of age. It’s had the sort of makeover that follows a flock of art students to a low-income, usually quite rough neighbourhood.
As their creativity flows out, the developers flow in. Frank’s Rooftop Bar has made it to the top of the city’s nightlife hierarchy. Brought to you by art and architecture collective Bold Tendencies, it’s the poster boy for Peckham.
But there’s more to Delboy’s old ends than stereotypes if you can get past the sensory overload of Rye Lane with its butcher offcuts and art students lining the streets in equal measure.
The threats facing independent establishments are present in Peckham, but for now, they’re just about being kept at bay.
Drink: Peckham Springs
The bar is nestled beneath Peckham Rye Station and is home to a ridiculous £6 cocktail list, plus it has a gallery attached (of course).
Eat: Momo's Truck Find Mediterranean North African cuisine at MoMo’s - we recommend a no fuss £4 flatbread wrap from the food truck (Opposite Asda).
Do: Livesey Exchange
Free DIY sessions for women in tool making because there are few things more liberating than thwacking a bit of metal into your very own clamp.
