In honour of International Women’s Day on 8 March, we have compiled a list of boss ass bitches that you may or may not have heard of. May learning of their badass and world changing actions inspire you...Or just help you get a few more points in a pub quiz.

Maud Stevens Wagner
Maud Stevens Wagner was a circus performer and is thought to be the world’s first known female tattoo artist, as well as an aerialist and contortionist. Wagner and her husband, Gus, were the last tattoo artists to use the ‘stick and poke’ method in their work.

Big Mama Thornton was the RnB singer who recorded "Hound Dog" before Elvis Presley. She was also the first to release Ball ‘n’ Chain in 1961, before Janis Joplin.

Margaret Hamilton basically put man on the moon. She worked for NASA on the Apollo 11 space mission and wrote out the mathematical sequence/code for the spacecraft by hand. Her algorithms were so accurate they used them to double-check the computer’s work.
